The Business and Economic Review is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal. The Article Processing Charge supports the editorial and production services required to process, publish and maintain scholarly articles.
These services include editorial management, double-blind peer-review administration, copy-editing, typesetting, online publication, DOI registration and digital preservation.
Publication Fee
The APC is payable only after a manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication.
Important Notice
No fee is charged for the following stages of the editorial process:
- Manuscript submission
- Editorial screening
- Peer review
Authors should never make any payment before receiving an official acceptance decision and payment instructions from the Editorial Office.
Payment of an APC does not guarantee acceptance or publication. All manuscripts are evaluated independently on the basis of their academic quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor and contribution to the field.
Waivers & Financial Support
Supporting access to scholarly publishing
The journal aims to ensure that publication charges do not prevent the dissemination of quality research.
Authors from low-income countries or authors experiencing genuine financial hardship may request a partial or full APC waiver.
Waiver requests should preferably be submitted before or at the time of manuscript submission and should briefly explain the circumstances. Each request will be considered individually by the Editorial Office.
An approved waiver has no influence on the editorial or peer-review decision.
Payment Process
Submit Your Manuscript
Submit your manuscript through the journal's designated submission process. No payment is required at submission.
Editorial Screening & Peer Review
The manuscript undergoes editorial assessment and, where suitable, double-blind peer review.
Acceptance
If accepted, the corresponding author receives an official acceptance letter together with the applicable APC amount and payment instructions.
Production & Publication
After payment or an approved waiver, the manuscript proceeds to copy-editing, typesetting, final processing and online publication.

The journal is committed to maintaining a transparent publication-fee policy. The applicable APC is communicated clearly to authors before payment is requested.
